Music is such an integral part of the gaming experience that without music gaming would be a supremely different affair. It wouldn’t feel as all-encompassing or wholistic as it does with music.
Boss battles wouldn’t hit the same way, ending montages wouldn’t feel the same and cutscenes just wouldn’t be worth the extra animations. Think about it, music brings the video game to life. It highlights everything in the game, the emotion, the feeling, the characters. Everything depends on what you can hear, the melody that makes the game. Even if you played a game many moons ago, chances are you probably still remember how its theme went. Amirite?
video game radio – Something similar happened to me recently, as a huge Nintendo fan, I played my first Zelda game when I was about 9 or 10, it was The Legend of Zelda: The Oracle of Ages. Recently, while watching one of the many Nintendo YouTubers talk about a new Zelda game on the horizon, I realized the background music on his video, was eerily familiar, after franticly google searching and stalking his channel, I found out it was from Zelda: The Oracle of Ages and for a moment I was 10 again and it brought me so much joy to think of the game and the lasting impact it had on me.
Which video game has music that transports you to another time? Ever had that experience?
