Happy New Year, followers! We all know that the new year brings forth many anticipated events in a gamer’s life. The excited anticipation of what to expect in the year concerning all the upcoming video game drops and the hope that all will release timely with few delays. Most importantly for us, though, we wait in wonder as to which video game music will become our soundtrack of 2022. With that said, today we’ll be taking a look at which video games we are anxiously awaiting and what 2022 has in store for us, musically.
Some of the AAA releases we are looking forward to the most are God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, Gran Turismo 7, Kirby, and Breath of the Wild 2. In the indie list, the frontrunner we are eager about is Hollow Knight’s sequel: Silksong. All of these promise a unique song list and music experience in gaming, especially BOTW and Silksong, since their original games had such distinct and mesmerizing soundtracks that gamer’s enjoyed even while not playing the games.
Apart from that, there could possibly be a new Avatar movie and supplementary video game that are both bound to have truly unique soundtracks that we are really excited about and don’t want to jinx because Avatar has been prone to be postponed and delayed. Another box office hit that might be trying its luck in the video game world is Dune: Spice Wars and we’re really stoked about that too, because the movie was fantastic and an open world Dune RPG would be sick, if it’s accompanied with some amazing music, of course.
Did your most anticipated title make it to our list? If not, tell us in the comments below, which video game’s music do you think will rock 2022’s socks off?
